Dina Cuomo is the artist/jewelry designer of Elektra Jewelry. She got started making jewelry over 10 years ago after taking a jewelry making class while on vacation in New Hampshire, but started a business about 1 year ago.
She states "I have loved jewelry and gemstones all my life. My travels to Greece and Greek background have influenced my love of 18k and 24k gold and my choice to work with gold vermeil.(24k over sterling silver) I make one of a kind jewelry pieces to accommodate many different styles and fashion trends."
Diana's Etsy shop contains beautiful works such as this necklace (once again, had to add this one because my husband works at NASA and is a space nut). It is fashioned with dazzling genuine Murano sterling silver lined beads, swarovski capri blue bicones and sterling silver Balinese beads.
All of Diana's pieces are one of a kind, and her favorite materials are gold vermeil, gold filled, sterling silver ,genuine gemstones, lampwork beads and Murano glass.
I started making jewelry over 10 years ago during college when a family friend that is a jeweler taught me how to string pearls. After that I tried to teach myself everything I could about making beaded jewelry. I am self-taught, definitely not the "artsy" type. As you can probably tell, most of my jewelry is pretty classic in style. I earned my master's degree in Occupational Therapy, and I am able to incorporate crafts and beads into therapy at times with my patients.
I am a mother of two small children (13 months, and 2 1/2)that is enjoying staying at home with them while they are young. In doing so, I have been able to pick back up with my jewelry business that I love.
