Bottle Cap Mania!

Bottle Caps seem to be sweeping the nation. At the urge of my nieces, I've started making them and am having a ball doing so. Instead of adding them to ball chains and only being able to wear one style, I've decided to go the interchangeable route and put them on super strong magnets so that you can just pop one off and add another any time you want. My nieces store their extra caps on the fridge, which are great decoration, and that way they always know where they are.

Chokers are soft and stretchy and just slip on over your head. They'll fit anywhere from a 2 year old to an adult (but please supervise small kiddos while wearing).

For all my current styles and colors, visit my home page or my Etsy shop. Selections are always changing, so check back often.

Available at:
http://sparklystrandz.com
or
http://sparklystrandz.etsy.com

I have a new item in my shop and on my website. I don't know why it's taken me so long to get these going again. It was always my best seller.

It's a set of interchangeable earrings. It comes with a pair os sterling silver ear wires that close for extra security, and 4 sets of drops in classic colors-Garnet, Crystal, Jet, and Pearl.

Each set will come packaged in a little metal tin that will not only help keep the earrings all in one place and easy to find, but great for travel as well. As an extra bonus, the tin will also contain one of my crochet cotton scrubbies (that you can use on your face, dishes, etc).

For only $16, this is a great starter set, and you can always add extra dangles from my site or my shop for a greater variety.

Second Monday Treasure Hunt

Our First Monday Sale with Etsy Texas Crafters went so well that we are going to be doing other Monday promotions/sales now. This coming Monday (Dec 10) we will be having a Treasure Hunt. Hopefully, each month, the treasure hunt will have a different theme. This month, the theme is "Stocking Stuffers".

Here's the deal:

  • Our December Treasure Hunt will begin at 12:01am on Dec 10Th & end at 12:00 midnight on that same day (Central time -- that would be 1:01am Monday to 1:00am Tuesday, Etsy time).
  • To play, search participating ETC member shops to find a minimum of 10 items with the designated image in the items' photos (Percival, the Elf--shown above).
  • When you've found 10 or more items, convo your list of the URL addresses (links) for those items to http://ArtSpot.etsy.com
  • If there is more than 1 correct entry, by the midnight deadline, all correct entries will be placed in a stocking & one winner will be drawn. If there are no complete correct entries, the person with the most correct entries will be designated that month's winner. Winner will be notified/announced no later than midnight on Tuesday Dec 11Th.
  • To view this month's participating shops, please see our team website at http://www.etsytx.org
  • ETC members are not eligible to win.
  • Tip: The more items you find and submit, the better your prize selection will be. The winner will get too *choose* 1 item from their submitted list as their prize!
  • Disclaimer: In the event that the winner’s 1st choice of prizes sells during the contest, winner would have to choose another prize from their submitted list.

Nursing Necklace

I'm proud of my new item that I've posted in my Etsy shop and added to my website in the Baby Boutique section. It's really pretty necklace that can be worn while feeding baby to give him something to play with other than pinching your arm or pulling your hair, and keeps him focused at the same time. It's made with pretty organza ribbon and glass beads, and the loop is knotted in one continuous piece to prevent the beads from being able to break off.

The necklace is made in a little longer length than average (about 20") so that baby can reach it, yet it is still light to wear. It has a lobster clasp closure.

More styles and colors to come, so keep checking back. Makes a great gift for a new mama that wants to keep baby happy while still looking stylish. Please feel free to contact me if there's a specific color combo you would like. You can email me at sparklystrandz@earthlink.net

My cool Treasury!

I just happened to be on the page when Treasury "reload" came around. I live in a very HOT area, and can't wait until I can bust out my sweaters and boots. My husband and I love to ski, which makes me think of ice and all the shades of blue that can come with it, so I was inspired to choose these items this time around. It was fun to see it all come together!

Here's the link: http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=12485

Don't forget to go visit my shop while you're at it. I was on a green kick for a while. Maybe now I'll kick the blue jewelry into gear. Gotta get cracking on merch for the upcoming craft shows!!

New Green Jewelry

I love the greens that are out for fall. I've gotten a few pieces made, and have posted them in my Etsy shop, and will be getting a lot more things made for fall in the next weeks.

This next necklace I have added to my homepage as the "Allyne" necklace and has the tiger eye beds on one, and the second one has golden jade gemstone pebbles. I love this pendant because it looks like it's just "floating". They are also available in my Etsy shop. Both of these stones are great for fall.

Bird's Nest Ring

This is such a fun little ring to make. It looks like three little bird's eggs "nestled" in a nest! They are listed in my Etsy shop. Each one is wire-wrapped by hand and will be just slightly different...I like to say they are "organic"--that's my favorite crafty description. I think it's a way for folk to say something may look slightly wonky than the other.

Agate Necklace and Bracelets

Pendant with Topaz and filigree dangle

Wire bangle bracelet and handmade clasp

Short-style chunky green agate necklace on a thicker chain.

I've gotten a hole of some pretty agate stones and decided to make some necklaces and bracelets. They're posted in my Etsy Shop. These stones were just a pretty mix, so these are one of a kind. Once they're gone, they're gone. I can get similar stones, but each piece will be a bit different!!

Awareness Earrings

These are some new earrings that are in the "awareness" ribbon shape. These have a little pink pearl and little pink crystals for breast cancer awareness. These will be available on my Etsy Shop, or on my Home page as soon as I can get another minute to go post them.

Rings Added to Etsy

I haven't added these to the home page or shopping cart yet, but I have listed a few for sale in the Etsy shop. These are both made from buttons and wire. I think they are fun, and I'm finally excited to be able to have some "fun rings" to wear. One of the whole reasons I started making jewelry in the first place is because I could never find anything that would fit my pitiful little wrists. As always, these can be custom ordered to whatever color and size you need. I have them listed at $8.

Amigurumi Patterns

I don't know where I've been for this craze, but I think amigurumi (which means knitted or crocheted doll in Japanese) is just precious. I'm not so sure I'd be very good at it, though. I am used to doing larger items, and it looks like there may be just a bit too much sewing and finishing for these little guys. I love them, though. I thought I would post a few links to some free amigurumi patterns, Katrina's Crochet Creations has more free patterns with little chihuahuas, little 'shrooms, kitties, and lots more. Here's a link to Crochet Me's article on amigurumi that has lots of tips and info. There are some way cute ones that others have shared on other site, too. Such talent. For example, check out this Princess Leia and Yoda--I would try this one if I had a pattern--I'm a big Star Wars fan! I guess I'll stick to my Crochet Onesies and crochet cowboy boots for now. I've also started making java jackets (so you can work on the "reduce and reuse" aspect with your Starbucks in the mornings). Plus, they are just way more sassy than that cardboard thingy!! I've given all the ones I've made away so far as gifts, so I'll post a pic later.
As always, check out the home page at http://www.sparklystrandz.com/ , or visit my Etsy shop at http://www.sparklystrandz.etsy.com/ for some cute handmade goodies. You know you need em!
